daemonic

macOS systems engineer

I go by Gerger online — daemonic is my handle. No surname, no photo — just the work. I spend most of my time learning how macOS works underneath — daemons, memory, scheduling, the file system, and everything the documentation skips over.

For years I wanted to start something. I kept putting it off. A while back an idea clicked — I wanted to become a specialist in macOS background systems. Not generic software. Systems that feel like they could have shipped from Apple itself. Invisible, reliable, native. So I decided to learn how macOS actually works. Not the surface layer. Everything underneath. The blog started as a personal decision — a place to store what I learn, written precisely enough that future-me could use it. If it helps someone else along the way, that genuinely makes me happy.
